Tried to boot up and a blue screen displays with different 5 options - fix PC, closedown PC, recover PC, etc. perplexed?? Opened BIOS to boot priority and cant find new SSD??? Boot priority in BIOS says Boot Priority manager ??? dont understand ??removed SSD and re-installed old HDD..works fine. HELP

Did you remove the old one to boot and establish the new as the boot drive ?

It sounds as if the clone process didn't work. Does the new drive have exactly the same partitions as the original has?

This may help as it has always helped me. But maybe not the same for your drive ???

appreciate the suggestion, but confused as how this would help…in the 1st paragraph it reads when cloning to an ssd will initialize and partition the new ssd?

Yes in my case, I didn't clone a new add on drive as I just use it for pictures.

But in your case, I suppose the cloning should do the partitions, I just post it so that you could check yours.

Maybe you need to re-clone or use different clone software ?

Yeah, that isn't going to help, since the clone process should have done all that for you. With both drives connected you should be able to open them in Disk Management to see the partitions on each. The new one should be identical for all partitions except for the system partition (C:). That one should be resized to match the drive. It's been a while since I used the Acronus software, but I seem to remember it being confusing as to the difference of using it for a backup and using it for an actual clone.

Found a local tech guy on thumbtack. Used a different cloning software app and everything is running fine with a new SATA SSD drive installed. Removed and kept the old HHD as a backup drive. PC response and startup and much, much better. It was a $125 lesson. Thanks for everyone's help >

Too bad you had to resort to paying for a tech, but at least it's sorted and you are back up and running. :)
