Add 2.5" drive to A315-59-53ER (expected motherboard socket for 50.K6WN2.001 FFC HDD wire missing)

Seeing an empty space for a 2.5" drive I tried to find the port for attaching the FFC HDD wire (since there wasn't a SATA wire already provided), but found nothing. So I searched online and found someone asking the same question for the same model who got a response:https://community.acer.com/en/discussion/683184/add-ssd-hard-drive-to-a315-59-53er-i-cant-find-a-place-to-plug-in-cable-on-motherboard

However, the port on their A315-59-53ER is completely nonexistent on mine except for the contacts.

Here's theirs:

Is that socket meant to be completely missing? Would it be possible for me to get this laptop taken in and repaired or at least get a new one with the port if it isn't? Part of why I chose this model in the first place was because it was supposed to have a place to put my 5 TB HDD into (I've sourced the 50.K6WN2.001 wire myself) which I need to be able to use the laptop for what I bought it for since I don't have any M.2 SSDs that have enough capacity.
