I opened up my acer aspire c24 to remove dust + upgrading the RAM of the computer.

however now, half the screen is dimmer on one side and the fan is very loud aswell.

Is there any fix to this problem?

Its very hard to advise you if you only give us a partial model number of your AIO Aspire computer, as there are many C24 AIO models that Acer make! Your C24-xxxx could have a screen cable problem at its plug, as you might have moved its plug and certain pins are not making contact with the mainboard screen plug, when you cleaned the AIO, or the actual screen eDP cable has an issue and needs replacing, or the actual screen backlight has problems and the screen needs replacing.

First check the cable/plug issue if its plug is fully plugged in, otherwise it could be a screen backlight issue which you need a new screen, best is to take your AIO to a technician and get them to pinpoint exactly where the problem is. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

After upgrading your Acer Aspire C24, the screen being dimmer on one side and the fan being excessively loud. To address the screen dimming issue, first, check your brightness settings in the Display section of the Settings menu to ensure it's set correctly. If the issue persists, disable the adaptive brightness feature in the display settings. If these steps don't resolve the problem, it may be a hardware issue, and contacting Acer support for further assistance would be a good idea.

Regarding the loud fan, start by checking the fan settings in the Power Options under the Control Panel. Adjust the maximum processor state to a lower percentage to see if that reduces the fan noise. Additionally, ensure that there is no dust buildup inside the laptop, as this can cause the fan to work harder. If the fan continues to be loud despite these measures, it might be faulty and could require replacement

thank you so much, the number on the back says C24-865.

Do you know where I can find an Acer technician?

If the shadow tends to appear after prolonged use, it could be heat-related. Make sure the Aspire C24-865 has proper ventilation and isn’t being used on surfaces that might insulate heat.

If the problem started right after a Windows update, it might be worth uninstalling the update to check if that’s the cause of the glitch.
