I recently bought a AN16-41 4070 Acer Nitro 16 Gaming Laptop a month ago, up until recently, its been hitting high 86-90 degrees on the cpu while playing fortnite while on turbo mode and 90-94 degrees on performance mode for fans. I raised the bottom with books while the gpu is hitting 86-87 degrees. Is this normal for the laptop?

It's normal for gaming laptops like the Acer Nitro AN16-41 to reach high temperatures while gaming.

    • Capping FPS can significantly reduce CPU temperature and help keep the system cool.
    • Using a cooling pad with built-in stands is more effective than using books to elevate your laptop.
    • Limiting FPS also helps in managing CPU temperatures.
    • Using upscaling or lower graphics settings results in more CPU work.

Additionally, your Nitro AN16-41’s AMD and NVIDIA CPU and GPU are configured by Acer with maximum temperature specifications well above what you're experiencing, so the temperatures you’re seeing are within safe limits. It's important to ensure your AN16-41 is running Windows 11 OS, not Windows 10, as the laptop is optimized for Windows 11 and using the wrong OS can contribute to higher temperatures. Also, make sure you have the latest NVIDIA drivers installed and that you're using GeForce Experience to manage your game settings. Finally, keep your laptop’s BIOS and Windows updates current, as these updates can significantly affect performance and temperature management.

Just in addition, your Nitro AN16-41 laptops AMD and NVidia CPU and GPU is set by Acer to the below max temp specs, so the temps that you are reaching are way below the max that this laptop can handle, also your AN16-41 should be operated with Win-11 OS and NOT Win-10 OS as that is also a factor of increasing temps as the laptop is not designed for that OS, also make sure that you run the latest NVidia drivers for the GPU and run your games through GeForce Experience software and you have installed this laptops latest bios and windows updates, as all this has a great impact on how your laptop operates.

    Thermal Management:-

    • CPU TCC Trigger: 92C
    • OS Shut Down: Trigger = 110C
    • EC Shut Down: Trigger = 110C
    • H/W Shut down: Trigger = 95C
