Good morning,

Windows 10 automatically installed Windows 11, now I have no audio device installed.

I went to Acer driver downloads and downloaded the correct Realtek driver for my laptop model (Spin 3).

Audio_Realtek_6.0.9180.1_W11x64_A.zip

I click on the Setup Application and get the error message: “The destination file could not be created.”

In Device Manager, under Sound, Video and Game Controllers, there is only an Intel® display audio driver listed.

Any suggestions?

Thank you in advance.

Which Spin 3 model do you have? There have been a bunch of different ones over the years. Did you actually extract the zip file before trying to run the installer, or are you trying to run the installer from within the zip?

Hi Tim, don't install RTK audio drivers as these are integrated with Intel codec drivers, let Windows11 do the installing. Open Device Manager and uninstall all audio drivers and unknown devices you see in Sound video and game controllers, also uninstall any devices that have yellow exclamation triangles and just reboot. If that did not fix the sound problem, download DDU freeware from the Wagnardsoft site and boot to Safe Mode, open DDU and uninstall all Realtek audio drivers, reboot: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000091878/graphics.html

Hey Billsey. Thank you for your thoughtful comment. Literally, 15 minutes before you sent your suggestion I figured out that I need to extract the files. It wasn't obvious they were zipped. And that was the entire problem. I was just listening to my first song when your comment came through. Thanks again! Tim
