Can anyone here tell me how to follow up with Acer on a "Repair my Acer" request?
My Predator Triton 300 SE is out of warranty, and yesterday morning I went onto Acer's web site and found a "Repair my Acer" link where (supposedly) I could submit a request for repair. I was given a Reference Number and was told that "An Acer Representative will review your case and will be in contact with you shortly." I got no email confirming the request, and so far I have heard nothing back from Acer either by phone or email.
If I go to the site and try to open another case, I get a message saying that a request is already open and that I should contact Acer for further assistance — but no contact information is given.
I tried calling Acer, and because my system is out of warranty I was routed to the third-party support organization, who told me that they had no knowledge of the Reference Number for my case, and that if I wanted to send the unit in for repair it would cost $999.99 — more than the price of a new unit.
Something is wrong here. Apparently Acer has a group that handles repair requests, and it's different from their third-party provider. But I can't find any way to contact that group.
Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thanks.
