Hi, sleep mode (Windows8.1 "Connected Standby") has been replaced by Modern Standby from Windows10 22H2 onwards. To suspend the laptop press the Power Button briefly (assuming the button is set for "Sleep mode" and not Shut Down). When the laptop resumes it may be trying to install an update, or you have a system (power management) issue. Check for updates to see if there are updates pending/failed, update BIOS. If still no results you don't need to reinstall Windows, just do a System Restore to a date when Sleep mode was still functioning. Type Restore in Search and click on "Create a restore point" and "System Restore" (see picture) with a date before the Sleep mode problem started.

    • Ensure that your BIOS and all drivers are up to date. Visit the Acer support website and download the  latest updates
    •  Go to Control Panel > Power Options and ensure that the sleep settings are configured correctly. You  can try changing the power plan to "High performance" and see if that helps.
    •  Go to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do,and disable "Turn on fast  startup."
    •  Use the builtin Windows Troubleshooter to diagnose and fix any powerrelated issues. Go to Settings > Update &  Security > Troubleshoot > Power.
    •  Sometimes, resetting the power plan to default settings can help. Go to Control Panel > Power  Options > Change plan settings > Restore default settings for this plan.
