I wanted to update from version 1.16 to 1.18 as per the instructions. After the update, it exited with an error, and since then, the computer won’t turn on. I’d greatly appreciate any help with this!!!

You may have downloaded BIOS for a different Nitro V15 model? See if you can boot to BIOS to reset with F9, if nothing works take the laptop to Acer Services in your country to reprogram the EEPROM for a small service fee.

I downloaded the latest software and BIOS version based on the SNID. I performed the update while connected to the power supply. The issue occurred after the restart. I can access the BIOS, and the recovery page is available, but it is unable to resolve the problem.

Hi, is your laptop model ANV15-51? If you can't reset BIOS with F9 (in BIOS and F10 to save changes) and unable to boot to Windows I recommend taking the laptop to Acer services in your country to reset the system.

The Acer Nitro V15 models have the following bios last versions:

    • Nitro ANV15-41 has the v1.11
    • Nitro ANV15-51 has the v1.18

So if you have the ANV15-51 and you installed its latest v1.18 bios (as you can't install the ANV15-41 with the v118 bios as it won't install) then and if your laptop "since then, the computer won’t turn on" it means that you have interrupted the bios flash midway through its update process and corrupted the bios program, that is why your laptop will not turn on. With the Inside bios flash for these laptops, you need to start the flash and afterwards you are not allowed to press any key or interrupt the bios flash, you need to allow the Insyde bios flash software to execute and only use the laptop when its at its OS login screen as the bios update executes automatically and this is what you didn't do. I've done hundreds of these bios updates and the guide above are how you do a successful bios update which you didn't do.

You have a corrupt bios program that the only way that it cam be fixed is for you to take/send your laptop to Acer Tech Support in your country as they will reprogram the bios chip for a minimal charge, do that as that is the only simple and cheap solution to fix your laptop, otherwise the bios chip needs replacing with a latest v1.18 update which can also be done. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

The same thing happened to me, when updating the bios the power button stopped working correctly, I have to press it many times to get it to turn on, I say the equipment is totally new but my doubt is because when I acquired it that did not happen after updating the bios I have the Problem with the power button, not something strange.
