Hi dear All,

I have a problem with my acer swift go 14. The touchpad isn't operating properly.

I can't use it to navigate on the pages, only like a mouse. No multiple finger movements, or scrolling pages, nothing.

Did anyone have the same experience?

Thx:

G.

Hi, clean the touchpad surface thoroughly with a moist fiber cloth, don't use alcohol, often a coat of grease from your fingers reduces the sensitivity, don't rest the laptop on your bare lap or body as that also interferes with the TP gestures and keep the battery 100% charged/power adapter plugged in as TP reacts when power is throttled. Boot to BIOS and check if Touchpad is set to 12C HID and not PS/2 (press Ctrl+S to unhide), save changes on exit (F10). Boot to BIOS and uninstall the 12C HID device in Human Interface Devices and just reboot. If none of this helps you may have a hardware problem, bring the laptop to Acer in your country to check the TP connections.

I"ll try these steps. It's brand new, so it cant be dirty.

Thank you very much for the tips!

The greasy fingers issue can happen on a brand-new laptop too, clean the TP surface, takes only a minute. 😉

Which Swift Go 14 model do you have? There have been a number of different ones. Your full model number is usually on the same sticker as your serial number, it should look something like SFG14-xxx-xxxx. once we know what you have we might be able to make better suggestions.
