Good morning, helpers!

Recently, I bought two new RAM modules from Crucial, CT2K8G4DFRA32A (2x8GB RAM).

They are compatible, non-XMP, and have the exact same specifications as the original RAM that was already installed.

The issue is that when I installed the new RAM into slots 1 and 3, the computer lights up but makes a long, non-stop beeping noise.

When I try the new RAM in the existing slots that are already occupied by the original RAM (which are slots 2 and 4), it works fine. The issue only occurs in slots 1 and 3.

So, I can tell that it is definitely a slot issue, not a RAM issue. I've been researching this issue and found out that cleaning the slots with compressed air can help. I tried that, but it didn't work. I've read a similar article to this one, but that person worked it out by installing the RAM in a 16-8-16-8 formation.

Is it a motherboard issue or a RAM slot issue? To me, it seems more like a RAM slot issue.

Please help meeeeee :(

    I give up on this.

Ever since I bought this PC, all the components looked fake, and it already seemed impossible to upgrade any parts except the CPU cooler.

What do you mean by there being an extra slot for two more RAM sticks? IT'S NOT WORKING! Now, even those two extra slots look fake. I blame myself for being so poor that I got this PC full of cheap parts that I can't even do anything with.

Sorry Acer and congrats! You got me

    Hi @Dennybunz

Please follow the Memory configuration guidelines
    • To ensure data integrity, use only Acerapproved DDR4 3200 MHz type memory modules.
    • Memory modules must be installed starting with DIMM1 slot.
    • Always handle memory modules by its edges.
    • When installing memory modules, populate the DIMM slots according to the table below.

    Note:

The memory specs are the same for all PO3-630 models. Just match what you have now and stay away from the XMP profile sticks, they will run a lot slower on a non-XMP system.

As I wrote above, I got exact same spec RAM as the original RAM, maybe I have to activate slot 1 and 3 in the BIOS?

Sorry, it was DIMM1 and DIMM2,

So DIMM3 and DIMM4 is an issue.

DIMM# printed on the MOBO is,

    DIMM4 DIMM2 DIMM3 DIMM1

Original RAM installed on 1 and 2,

3 and 4 causing an issue.

    Thanks
