Why won't my Acer Chromebook Spin 714 Touchscreen CP714-1HN connect to external monitor via usb c?

I just bought this but it won't work over usb c cable to my external monitor. The monitor just says no signal.

I've tried 2 cables that are certified for video and also tried it with the Chromebook under power.

This worked fine with my Lenovo ideapad gamin Chromebook (using the same cables)

This is the monitor:

ARZOPA Portable Monitor, 15.6" 1920×1080 FHD IPS Portable Monitor for Laptop with Kickstand, Ultra-Slim Second screen for Laptop/PC/Mac/PS3/4/5/Xbox - USB C & HDMI Connectivity - A1

Any help greatly appreciated,

Thank you

Hi, the Acer Chromebook Spin 714 CP714-1HN supports Thunderbolt 4 and DisplayPort Alt Mode through its 2 USB-C ports so you should have no issues connecting an external monitor to one of the 2 USB-C port with a DP 1.2 or 1.4 cable if the monitor has a DP port or DP-HDMI 2.0 cable. That monitor has both ports DP and HDMI so it should work. Have you tried the other USB-C port or HDMI port on the laptop if that works? If nothing works, I suggest taking the laptop to Acer Services to check the USB-C ports, there are no BIOS or driver updates available on Acer Support for your model.

    Thank you,

I haven't tried the HDMI (Just haven't a cable with me right now but I will).

I've tried 2 USB C cables, the one that came with the monitor and this one https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07X31FG6Z/ref%3Dppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

They both work fine with my Lenovo Chromebook but not with the Acer. Just gets no signal from the Acer. I'll follow up with Acer support.

Acer specs are clear that it should work:

I am having the same problem.

USB-c to portable display says not signal on my Acer Spin 714. If I use USB-c and an hdmi-mini hdmi it also works. I just don't want the extra cable.

it works on my ASUS C434 or my Acer R13 without any extra steps.

Is yours also the CP714-1HN model series, or one of the others? There have been at least five different base series in the CP714 line…
