Why does Acer Swift 3 (Ubuntu) require a Daily battery reset after blank screen issues

Hi folks

Acer Swift 3 running fine for 10 months now

open lid blank screen but lit keyboard

Try all the usual key presses and F keys - no response

Battery reset brings it back to life

Called support they say only deal with Windows machines ..

Any help gratefully accpeted (Ubuntu 24.10

    When you say "Battery Reset", what process are you actually using? Do you just push the button on the back? That just does a quick disconnect/reconnect of the battery and doesn't actually reset anything. Same as if you forced a power off by holding the power button, or very close to it. To reset the battery you need to first disconnect everything from the laptop, including the charger. Next press and hold the reset button for 15-30 seconds. Next wait… for 15 minutes or so before plugging only the charger back in. Next wait for the battery indicator to display a full charge (it should turn blue). Only then try turning it back on and booting to your OS. That full process should reset the battery's internal data, so it won't report bogus info to the OS.
