I purchased aspire a715-79g on 28th Sept 2024 and I found 2 major firmware issues as follows:

  1. The Control Center app takes at least +2 minutes to start after turning the laptop on. Due to this keyboard backlight, fan settings are not accessible for the first 2-3 minutes.
  2. When the lid is closed or when the laptop automatically goes to sleep mode, it should wake up within a second once the lid is opened or a key is pressed. But it takes at least 15 seconds even if multiple keys are pressed. Ideally, any laptop in the world turns the screen on within a second once the lid is opened or any key is pressed.

I received a replacement product due to the above defects(after having multiple fights with Flipkart). But, the new device still has the same old problems.

I had escalated these issues to ACER Care India but no response from them. I have Twitter thread about this https://x.com/sh_ke_rushi/status/1848588031894425642.

I hope these issues are solved in the near future. Because Flipkart won't process a refund for these faulty laptop issues and I have high hopes from ACER.

Hi, Acer Care Center also known as Control Center hangs a lot in Windows11 and opens very slowly (if it opens at all) I recommend that you uninstall Acer Care Center, AcerSense and all other preinstalled bloatware like 3rd party browsers, virus checkers and trial programs. Check in Task Manager-Processes how many apps are running at the background those should not exceed 70, uninstall programs you don't really need. Don't use Revo or any other uninstallers as those clutter up the Windows registry with unwanted keys, but use Windows Add or remove programs and after that open Windows Services and check if accSvc, agentSvc and acsSvc are no longer listed, if you see these services, click on Stop and in Properties change the Startup type to Disabled, click on Apply.

If you still have slow boot time, unexpected sleep and wake from suspend issues, reset power plan to Balanced (don't use Acer Cutom Power Plan) in "Edit Power Plan, reset to factory default" and click on Advanced settings, check that you have the Sleep options set like on this picture:

Finally, you may have corrupted system files, open the command prompt as Administrator and paste this line: Dism.exe /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth and press Enter, then paste this line: SFC /scannow and press Enter. Rerun SFC till you see "….did not find any integrity violations"
