I find no specs on an Aspire One 720, there are 721, 722 and such models though. Do you know what the specs are on the model you have? The 721 and 722, at least, came with Windows 7 originally.

Still not quite right. I see an Aspire One 721, and a E5-721, but not an E1-721 model. The AO721 is from 2011, the E5-721 from 2015.

OK, so a laptop from 2013 then… They had two versions of those, with either a 2nd gen or 3rd gen chipset. The earlier ones came with Windows 8, the later with Windows 8.1. Either way, Windows 11 will not work, or even get close to working. Windows 10 should be fine though. XP will certainly not work, and Windows 7 may or may not. They came with differing amounts of memory, but all support a maximum of 8GB using two 4GB DDR3 or DDR3L SO-DIMMs at 1333 or 1600 MHz. Best, if you plan on using this as your main laptop, is 8GB of 1600 DDR3L, swapping the HDD for a SSD and installing Windows 10 64bit from a flash drive.

If you have a password on the BIOS itself though you have an issue. To remove that password it has to go to a service center where they can reflash it. The tools to deal with that aren't publicly available, for obvious reasons. It's not an issue if the boot menu is already enabled in the BIOS, because you can use F12 to get the boot menu and choose the Windows 10 flash disk as your boot device. Installing from there should go smoothly.
