Hi all, my KG271 seems to have black screened/died. The monitor was in normal operations for 6 years and cut out on me while under daily use. The monitor indicates its getting power, powers on, does not display the Acer Logo, does not show any signs of visual display. It simply shows a black screen with the backlight function. There's no visual prompts when using the monitor keys (screen brightness, screen contrast, volume control, etc). There's no visual prompt for "searching for source", "no signal". No signs of source selection (DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort).

Thoughts on the situation?

    Looks like your monitor died.

I ran into a black screen issue with the this monitor that happened after switching color profiles to the HDR Calibrated profile using the Windows 11 Pro HDR calibration tool (MS product) from the Microsoft Store. When I then switched back from HDR the screen went black and couldn't see the screen. Couldn't see the monitor On Screen controls. So I used my laptop which didn't have this profile on it and then could see the screen and make necessary changes by invoking the controls on the back of the monitor.

So follow up on this. The monitor "died". It seems that as a result of moving the ribbon cables inside the monitor got dislodged. I eventually gave up all hope and decided to disassemble the monitor as a last resort before trashing the thing and buying a new one. I found a youtube video to guide the disassembly process, proceeded to unplug and re-seat all of the ribbon cables. Taped up the internal components back into place, then reassembled and low-and-behold it was fixed. Currently typing my response on the same monitor!

Common causes include loose connections, incorrect input sources, and outdated drivers. Troubleshooting steps include checking cables, selecting the right input source, and updating drivers. A factory reset of the monitor or a BIOS reset of the computer can sometimes resolve the issue. Inspect for damage. Wiggle the cable to see if the monitor goes black. Try using a different video cable and see if it fixes the problem. Try connecting to a different monitor or a TV and see if that fixes the issue.
Reset the Monitor:- Press and hold the "Menu" button on the monitor. While holding the "Menu" button, turn on the monitor. Release the "Menu" button when the monitor's OSD (On-Screen Display) menu appears. Navigate to the "Factory Reset" option in the menu and select it.
