Acer Extensa 15.

When I connect laptop to TV the screen on TV does not show control bar at bottom of computer screen on TV, same for top bar for resize or shutdown.

It would appear that as soon as HDMI is plugged in the external screen automatically goes into extended?? mode.

Is there a method of disabling this, have checked on MS site and controls they mentioned not available on this laptop. Thank

More likely the TV is automatically running in the over scan mode. That is very typical for TVs where you don't want a border around the image. Go into the TV settings and turn that mode off for the input your are using and you will be able to see the whole screen again.

    Hi Billsey,

Thanx for your time, unfortunately this does not work, maybe older TV.

Also this, I feel is a Win 11 problem as it does the same on an LG projector, (older projector using RGB connection plus HDMI adaptor for computer,) where it gives message "Display out of range" regardless of display setting on computer.

Computers using win10 have no problem whatsoever!! Pure plug n play

Any further advice you might have will be most welcome. Regards.
