Hi everyone,

I'm attempting to upgrade the memory on my Predator G3-605 to 32GB, but I seem to be encountering issues. It looks like the motherboard isn't allowing the upgrade due to default memory settings. Even my current 16GB RAM isn't running at full capacity. I can't find the memory or CPU settings in the BIOS, despite having the latest BIOS update installed.

Does anyone have any advice or suggestions on how to resolve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, Puraw had a mistype there. Maximum memory is 32GB, not 24GB, using four 8GB DIMMs. You can use 1866MHz memory, but it won't run any faster than the 1600MHz the motherboard and chipset support. Likely 1600 is cheaper, so just stick with that. With DDR3 (note, not DDR3L) I don't believe XMP overclocking is an option and your system wouldn't support it if it were. There are no BIOS settings needed, just install the memory as shown in the chart and the BIOS will recognize it.

Hi, latest BIOS is from 2014, and older BIOS versions don't have an option for overclocking or any other RAM setting. You can upgrade RAM to a maximum capacity of 24GB with DDR3-1600MHz or even DDR3-1866MHz UDIMMs. Supports 2, 4 or 8GB DDR3 modules (see table):

Further memory information to add to what Puraw listed above for your Predator G3-605 desktop, you need to use specific and the exact Acer specified ram like listed below. Good luck and hope this helps you out further.

Memory module recommended and tested by Acer with this desktop, for the max 32GB ram capacity recommended for this desktop use 4x 8GB modules highlighted below:
