I have acer nitro 5 an515-45 (Ryzen 7 5800h) and I used it without any issue for a nearly a year and after that I noticed that when I charge my laptop to 100% then its randomly hibernates (even after unplugging at 100%) and when I turn it on again it shows me low battery msg and showing 0% Battery left but I doesn't turns off because it actually has 100% battery.

The thing is I haven't noticed this abnormal behavior because I used Acer Care Center application to limit my battery to 80%.

Note: till 100% it doesn't show any abnormities (if I unplug it at 98% , 99% there no issue or using the limiter at 98% , 99% in acer care center)

Hi Uninstall Acer Care Center and in Services disable any occurrence of accSvc and AcerAgentSvc in Properties-Startup type and click on Apply. Disable Fast Startup and Hibernate in "Change what closing the lid does" and "Change settings currently unavailable". Update your BIOS or reset BIOS with F9 in BIOS and save changes on exit (F10). Reset your Power Plan to factory default in " Edit Power Plan". Click on Check for updates and download and install KB5044380 22 October2024, Battery use fixed: "A device uses too much battery power while the device is in Modern Standby".

I did everything even resetting the laptop nothing helped. ( but the strange thing is it didn't hibernate during the reset process, it was plugged in the whole time (took 2 or 3 hours) but nothing happened. )

Hi, if still the original battery from January 2021 it may be bad, run a battery report, paste this in the command prompt: powercfg /batteryreport and open the report with your Edge browser, right click and select "Print to Microsoft PDF", attach the report to your reply, type @Puraw or use "Quote" when you reply so I will get an alert. Alternatively take the laptop to Acer Services in your country, it may have a power rail issue, include your adapter.

Hi, this battery was first used in October 2024 and is already 40% depleted indicating battery is from 2021?
You wrote you bought the laptop in 2023? Either you bought a refurbished 2021 laptop in 2023 and someone replaced the battery last month with an old used battery from 2021 or you bought the laptop in 2021? Also that battery is not W11 compatible as it does not support connected standby (see red box on picture). Did you register this laptop with Acer Support and till when is the warranty? Get a new high quality battery is my advice.

I actually bought the laptop brand new in 2021, so the battery should be a original one right? Unfortunately, the warranty has expired now @Puraw

Hi, that makes sense, so did you clean installed Windows 11 or upgraded to 23H2 last month? This is the original 2021 battery but was only registered in BIOS and Windows last month? Update Windows and let me know your Windows version, press Windows key + R and type Winver and Enter, that should show 23H2 22631.4391.

Yes, I Did Reset My Laptop to see whether my problem is solved or not. Sadly it didn't.
Now I'm Running Windows 10 Version 22H2 (OS Build 19045.5131)

I recommend that you upgrade to Windows11 23H2, the latest BIOS for your laptop is version1.11 from 2023/09/18 that is specially for W11. Check for Updates (Windows) and download the W11 upgrade, if you don't see the W11 upgrade download the ISO file to a Windows USB installation disk and install W11 manually. https://www.elevenforum.com/t/clean-install-windows-11.99/ Note that W11 23H2 can no longer be downloaded from Microsoft but from UUPdump.net: https://www.winhelponline.com/blog/download-older-version-windows-iso/
