Other sounds sounded isolated/drowned out when Microphone is enabled in Acer Aspire 3

I had some issues with the microphone. I never encountered this problem on my old Dell laptop before upgrading to a new laptop (Acer Aspire 3).

I usually keep the headphones/earphones plugged, and when I play or use apps that utilizes microphones, any audio playing in the background starts to sound drowned out unless if I turn the app off.

Any fixes for this?

Yes, you can tweak the Windows sound settings:

Clear these 3 check boxes in Microphone Array Properties.

and turn off all Audio enhancements, click on Default Effects and select None.

Set this option to do nothing (see picture above)

In AcerSense and Realtek you have the Purified voice app that you can disable in Services.

Thanks, but now the microphone no longer works. It's still recognized as an imput, but it doesn't pick up my voice.

Set the Audio enhancement back to Device Default Effects:

And enable Purified Voice again in AcerSense and Realtek.
