Hello everybody,

I have a small problem and i might need your help for this.

As you know this monitor has HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4, my laptop (Dell G15) has HDMI 2.0 and Thunderbolt 4.

I remember i read somewhere on Acer website that:
- connection HDMI to HDMI can be 2,560 x 1,440, 60 Hz, 10 bit or 2,560 x 1,440, 144 Hz, 8 bit
- connection USB-C to USB-C can be 2,560 x 1,440, 240 Hz, 8 bit

My obvious question is the only way i can have 2,560 x 1,440, 240 Hz, 10 bit, is to connect over DisplayPort (which i don't have on my laptop)?

Can you tell me if i can use an adapter DisplayPort to USB-C in order to connect cable DisplayPort to DisplayPort, to my laptop i can get 2,560 x 1,440, 240 Hz, 10 bit? And if it's possible, can you recommend a model?

Kind regards,

AlexB

If your laptop has the TBT4 then it can output a display image at 2560x1440 resolution at 240Hz refresher rate (check the specs at Dell) as you can use the DP to USB-C cable as it will work and your X27U should get an image at those resolutions and refresher rate.

Btw, this is how I've connected a Dell 27" 165 refresher rate monitor to my Nitro AN515-56 laptop to its TBT4 port and to the Dell monitor DP v1.4 port with the same cable and I'm getting QHD 2560 x 1440 @ 165 Hz and with a HDMI cable @ 144Hz. Good luck.

Just for additional information from the Acer Predator X27U monitors service guide, these are the USB 3.0, DP v1.4, and HDMI v2.0 oem cables recommended by Acer to connect this monitor with:
