Laptop not turning on. Blue battery light is on. I have done the battery reset by unplugging and holding power for 60sec.

Then waited for 30mins.

Plugged back in and tried to power up.

I also unplugged cmos battery and did the same.

Before it happened I have noticed I had to hold the power button for a few secs before laptop started to boot.

Beforehand it only needed one sec.

What's the issue ?

What else can be done ?

Hi, check the seating of the RAM modules, unseat and firmly reseat in the slots. If that does not help run a battery report (command: powercfg /batteryreport) and check how the latest capacity 100% charged compares with the design capacity and how many hours (should be 3-4) is left based on the draining profiles for the last 3 days. If that looks good I recommend bringing the laptop to Acer Services in your country as it may have a power rail issue or a bad power button.

    Tried it all.

Thanks for reply. I will return this to the store. That's my first and last acer unfortunately.

The Acer Predator PH315-55 is not a new model laptop its a 2022 model laptop, so you must have bought this laptop not new but used or it must be very old stock that sat in a store for a long time if its new, the looptop probably has a frozen EC chip that needs a hard reset to unfreeze it and NOT a silly press of the battery with pressing the power key to reset it.!

For a proper "Hard Reset" ask the store to do it for you, as there is nothing wrong with your laptop if its new??? If its used they need to open the back cover and take the main battery out and unplug the bios battery and short its mobo plug +&- pins (that resets the CMOS) and leave the laptop like that for at least 1 hour (preferably overnight) so that the EC chip resets properly as then your laptop will boot 100% and you will not have this problem again, this is a common phenomenon in gaming laptops from all manufacturers and NOT only Acer laptops especially if you bought the PH3165-55 used and the laptop was not looked after properly and/or setup properly. Btw, it happened to my Nitro gaming laptop when it was a few months old and I did a hard reset like above and this problem neve ever happened again. Good luck and hope this helps you out.
