One of my Nitro XZ320QK P3 Monitor is flickering. How to fix this?

I just purchased two Nitro XZ320QK P3 32" curved monitors. One of them is flickering. The other is not. I am feeding them through one HDMI 2.1port and one Thunderbolt 4 port on my laptop. GPU is NVIDIA RTX 2000 ADA Generation. Monitors are running at 4K and 144hz. The TBolt4 port is using an adapter to HDMI 2.1 so both monitors are ultimately connected at the HDMI 2.1 ports on the monitor. I know adapters are not recommended but this one is working fine. The adapter is a J5Create JCA399G. With two external monitors connected to my laptop I can easily determine through moving cables (and the adapter) from ports on the laptop and on the monitors that there is not a problem with a cable, adapter, or port on the laptop. The only thing the problem finally isolates to is a specific monitor. There are two HDMI 2.1 ports on the suspect monitor. I switch between these two ports with the cable from the laptop and the flicker remains when connected to either port on the monitor. So, something going on with this monitor. It will get to where there are no flickers for a while and then they get worse. It seems to be almost no flickering when the monitor is just starting up and it is cool. After it has been on a while the flickering gets progressively worse. Seems to be a problem with heat, not sure. Any suggest ions?

A flickering screen can be caused by faulty drivers or loose cables.

If your laptop screen keeps flickering, check for an outdated graphics driver. It can also be due to physical damage on your device or connections.

    • Improper graphics settings can also lead to screen issues.

There may be several reasons for your Nitro Monitor screen flickering:-

Loose or damaged cable connection: A faulty cable connecting the screen to the motherboard may cause flickering.

Outdated or incompatible drivers: If your computer’s display drivers are outdated or incompatible, it may lead to screen flickering issues.

Faulty screen or hardware: A faulty screen or internal hardware component can also cause flickering.
Overheating: Overheating the laptop can cause the screen flickering issue.

Software issues: Some software or apps may cause some problems, leading to screen flickering.
Incorrect refresh rate: An incorrect refresh rate setting may also result in a flickering screen issue.

You can start by checking your HDMI, Display-Port, or USB-C cables. Ensure that the cables are securely connected to both the monitor and the laptop. Make sure that the cable is fully tightened and it doesn’t look
or feel loose. This applies to all cable types, which can become loose for various reasons.

Plug in your system to an external monitor to check if the issue reoccurs. If the problem does not occur on the external display, it may be due to a hardware issue with the laptop’s screen. Next is to make sure that the graphic card driver is update. Outdated drivers may cause incompatibility, leading to screen flickering problems. Regularly updating drivers ensures optimal performance and a flicker-free experience.

Also to note overheating can cause hardware issues so, routinely check your laptop’s temperature to
ensure it is not overheating. Make sure you clean any dust or debris from the vents and fans to improve airflow.

Several reasons can cause your laptop's screen to flicker, such as faulty hardware like a damaged screen,  incorrect settings, outdated software, or bad display drivers. By following these steps, you can troubleshoot  and potentially resolve the screen flickering issue.

    • connect your laptop to an external monitor.
    • If the same issue occurs, try booting into safe mode with basic video settings to see if the display adapter or other drivers need reinstalling.
    •  If this is a recent problem, restoring the system to a previous point may be helpful.
    • If these steps don’t resolve the issue, it could be due to a loose connection with the panel cable, which might be an easy fix.
    • Alternatively, the screen itself may need replacement.
    •  In that case, I recommend visiting Acer services for professional help.
