my chromebook screen won't turn on, even though the blue light is on and continues to stay on even when the chromebook is closed. ive tried a hard reset, which just makes the light flash off and on once but doesn't do anything. and i've tried recovery, but the chromebook doesn't automatically reset afterwards and just stays off. what should i do?

If a hard reset doesn't fix the problem then its your chrome books EC chip that is faulty and needs replacing or the power rail has a faulty chip that needs pin pointing and changing before the laptop can fire up and boot. Take you laptop to a technician and get it diagnosed and fixed. Good luck.

This is the bottom of the mobo and all its parts descriptions, it could be the EC at #7 that is burned as that programmed chip controls the boot process.

This is a method that sometimes works on devices that won't turn on:-

Connect the charger to the Chrome OS device.
Hold the power button + Refresh key and remove the power adaptor as they keep holding on to those buttons.
    Wait for 1 minute.
Press the power button to test the device.
Note: The power LED should not blink and the device should not turn on.
Connect the power adaptor and monitor the LED colour. The device should try to turn on and the LED should blink or have a solid colour.
If that doesn't work, you should probably speak to your place of purchase about this to discuss your warranty or repair options.
