Model N1812 battery won't charge. The laptop will power on only with power adaptor connected. As soon as the power is disconnected the laptop shuts off. The indicator in the taskbar shows the adaptor is connected, but battery is at 0% and not charging.

How old is this unit? Have you tried battery reset?

    Hi SKPnSf,

Please perform a power reset and check if the issue is resolved.
Disconnect the charger. Please check for a battery reset PIN hole at the bottom of the device.
The reset hole would have a battery symbol next to it. Insert a paperclip into the hole and press for four seconds.
Let the computer sit for 5 minutes with no power. Reconnect the charger and power On the laptop to check the charging issue.

If the issue persists, open device manager, under the Batteries category, Uninstall "Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery". Then in Device Manager taskbar, click Scan for hardware changes. After device manager detects Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery component and restores it, restart your computer and issue should be fixed.
