Acer predator Connect D5 dongle does not connect to 4G / 5G

Hi,

There seems to be a problem with this fancy dongle that I purchased from you. I'm trying to set this up with the SIM card from Vodafone, that has a regular Mobile Cellular montly plan, but it does not connect to the proper vodafone network. The SIM card works perfectly in an Ipad. I've entered the SIM code correctly. But when I use it in the Predator connect D5, it stubbornly tries to connect to Truphone. Result: no internet connection! I've added a network profile with the Vodafone settings, but it seems to ignore that. I don't know what to do, I've already read the quick starting guide and that was absolutely no help. Otherwise there is no proper manual, no internet resource, no documentation at ALL!

You're my last resort, otherwise I'm returning this device to the seller.

The only thing on the Predator Connect D5 5G Dongle is what Acer has on its support page, the only thing that you can do is to contact Acer in your country and get technical help from them as it might be that this dongle is not compatible with your Vodafone internet in your country, so contact Vodafone also, as Acer does not have any service guide documentation on this Predator Connect D5 5G Dongle which could assist us to assist you. Good luck.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I've contacted vodafone and it did not work with their APN settings. I could not find a dutch Acer service desk, except for repairs'. I've also tested it on another computer, and it connects to Truphone 5G to my surprise (the default profile), but completely ignores the vodafone profile I've added. I've given up and will return this device. Shame on ACER for selling undocumented and untested hardware with buggy firmware! It should work with Europe's biggest cellular network out of the box, as any mobile device does. i'm so unbelievably angry! Never Acer again
