I've bought this laptop couple of weeks back, honestly, I'm content with its performance. But the battery backup of this laptop is not great as advertised. They claimed more than 10hours of battery as it's EVO certified. Why am I only seeing about 5-6 hours in daily usage? Do I have to tweak something? Any updates or any settings that I have to take care of? I have already uninstalled all bloat-wares and some background services which were not needed for me. Please respond if anyone has figured anything out. Thank you

Yeah, I'd guessed with the SFG14-73 series, since that's the newest one… The key here when looking at the published battery specs is that the 10 hour numbers aren't using WiFi or Bluetooth. Without those radios drawing power there is a difference. When getting the browsing numbers the WiFi is on, but the GPU isn't doing anything and they have a single tab open in the browser, so there's a lot less WiFi traffic than you would typically see. You may not be able to squeeze much more time out without changing your usage habits.

Battery life discrepancies in the Acer Swift Go 14 with the Core Ultra 7 155H often stem from various factors. Users report getting only 5-6 hours instead of the advertised 10+ hours due to settings and usage patterns. Key adjustments include:

    • Disable Hibernate and Fast Startup: These can interfere with battery performance.
    • Update Windows: Ensuring your system is up-to-date can enhance efficiency.
    • Optimize power settings: Adjust screen brightness and disable unnecessary background processes. Switch to Battery Saver Mode: Go to Settings > System > Power & battery, and select Battery saver. This mode reduces background activity and limits performance to save power.
    • Limit background apps: Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Background apps, and turn off apps that you don’t need running in the background.
    • Disable Startup Programs: Use Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to disable unnecessary startup programs that may drain battery life.
    • Use Dark Mode: If your laptop has an OLED display, enabling dark mode can save power.

Many users find that with typical usage, achieving the advertised battery life is challenging

You don't tell us just which SFG14 model you have, there have been a bunch of them and each has different specs. For the newest models, SFG14-73-xxxx, they publish this spec:

As you would expect, those tests were done under ideal conditions, with nothing else running other than the video playback or web browsing. Note also that "video playback" doesn't use the network, it has the WiFi and Bluetooth disabled and the video image is on the local SSD. There are a number of utilities that are installed in the default factory image, including an antivirus trial, and that is often a big resource hog, using a lot of battery…

Did you just paste a GPT generated paragraph? It's okay though.. I have done all of them, the second day I got the laptop. Except turning off the Fast Startup. My windows is up to date, background apps minimized, startup programs disabled, dark mode is ON, power setting is set to efficient. Turning off Fast Startup will only help me at the beginning of a boot, even if it saves power.
