Acer Aspire E1-522-5423- Performance related issue, couldn't find any resource online plz. help???
Reviewing all of the currently listed Q/A for Acer's and I'm growing concerned that because my laptop is seriously OLD (Acer Aspire E1-522-5423) I will never find any resource online or otherwise to help me. I recently "refreshed" my laptop because it was just running stupid slow and my browser pages (Chrome Firefox IE) kept crashing for no apparent reason?
So after I refreshed without using a recovery disk bc I can't find mine…. I am missing previously installed programs, and some driver files like for my Realtek Speakers which apparently no longer are installed on my system??
Omg what have I done?????????? I am not the least bit tech savvy so I probably shouldn't have even tried to refresh my stuff, but ya know. Windows 8.1 is sooo user friendly and unalarming to the naive (me) that I thought I could manage this one small task. Wrong.
So…. if any of y'all out there in the cyber community can help me with my outdated stuff I will truly appreciate ya. Thanks so much. 😓🙄😡

This 2014 Windows8.1 laptop is no longer supported by Acer and Microsoft, only BIOS version 2.09 is listed on the Acer Support site. You can no longer install Windows10 free as that won't be activated since 2023 with a W8.1 version, you can buy a Windows10 license and install that on your laptop but not version 22H2 as you will have TPM2.0 issues. You can reinstall Windows8.1: Reinstalling Windows 8, or better 8.1, from scratch - Microsoft Community
