I'm getting this error message:

"Error: ISP VmmUpdater.exe check firmware fail. Please make sure the dock with external display device has been inserted.

Composite version: 1.3.0.0

DMC Version: 3.3.1.2010

HUB Version: 4051

Power Delivery Version: 3.3.0.1753

Tool version: 1.0.3.3 downloaded here.

I do have a monitor connected to the dock and it's working fine. I've tried HDMI and DP on the dock itself. Tried 2 different docks of the same model, but hadd the same issue with both.

NTB is an ACER TravelMate P4 running W10.

The firmware version 1.0 should not be done with the dock connected to anything in its ports or a monitor, Connect the Acer USB Type C Dock III to your TravelMate P4 with as USB-C cable as per the hubs directions of its USB Type-C port - Connects to USB Type-C devices for data transfer only and update the firmare version 1.0 that way and don't use any other cable. Good luck.

#9 - USB Type-C port - Connects to USB Type-C devices for data transfer only

    Does not work.

    1. If docking station is connected backwards via usb3-C with the notebook: ERROR: ISP VmmUpdater.exe check firmware fail. Please make sure the dock with external display device has been insterted!
    2. If docking station is connected with the frontside usb3-C (no.9 in the picture), no device is found.
    3. Thus, how to install the new firmware? The USB-ports type A bring no other results
    4. Does it make sense at all, to install the new firmware? Are there really improvements to be expected?
