Why is my SWIFT SF314-511having problem to connect to the WiFi

Recently every time I switch on my computer I can't connect to any WiFi, it takes me 30 mins to 1 hour to reinstall the Intel R Wi-Fi 6 AX201 160MHz (error code 10) and Bluetooth Device drivers to get it working again. Of course Network Controller error code 28 comes up too. Even after installing, it all depends on luck, sometimes after restarting / shut down 5 times it works, sometimes it takes more than 10 times.

Please help me solve this, this is getting out of control.

Firstly, try to do a power reset by turning off the laptop, and unplugging the charger, and locating a power reset pinhole at the bottom cover. Use a small tool and press it for 5 seconds.
If that does work, use the network reset function

It is often the case that the problem with your Wireless connection is just that the ‘wireless’ button has been inadvertently turned off. Many users are unaware that the button is even there so it can often be switched accidentally.

In some Acer models you can use a combination of keys on the keyboard to enable or disable wireless networking, in other models there is a wireless switch on the front or side of the laptop. There is a list in the section below of various models and where wireless toggle buttons can be located. These are either:

A wireless button above the keyboard
A toggle slider button on the front or side of the laptop
The fn (function) key pressed in conjunction with another key showing the wireless icon on your keyboard. The Wireless icon will look like one of the images below …

Hi @Axxo, the issue is the driver (refer 1st picture) itself, not the on / off switch of the wireless connection. The WiFi connection option also disappears from the option (refer 2nd picture)

Hi @AnhEZ28, the solution you recommended didn't last after a few days. Now I have to do the step you suggested every time I start up the computer.

Which driver version are you running? IIRC the Intel driver is a lot newer than the one provided by Acer, so it might have performance improvements.

First download the SWIFT SF314-511 latest Intel® Wi-Fi 6 AX201 Wi-Fi driver version 23.80.1 dated:10/2/2024 and also latest Bluetooth version: 23.80.0 dated: 10/2/2024 drivers for this laptop.

Then completely uninstall the Wi-Fi and BT drivers through Device manager and reinstall these new Wi-Fi and BT drivers as your Wi-Fi and BT should work. Good luck.

Yes, I'm running 23.80 myself, since Intel pushed that update a week or two ago, but you are certainly new enough with 23.70 that the driver is unlikely to be the issue. With both error codes 10 and 28 you may actually have a hardware issue. A replacement AX201 is a pretty cheap fix if that's the case.

The AX201.NGWG cards are very easy to find… You can't use an AX211 or AX411, even though they are both CNVio2, because those only support specific chipsets. You might be able to use an AX210 that isn't CNVio2, the AX200, AX210, etc use normal PCIe instead of CNVio2.
