Just bought Acer A315 - 58 and first time switching on this appeared

Wouldn't power down at first but managed to on second attempt. Powering back on, it functioned normally & I managed to set it up with no problems. Is this something to worry about going forward? I have contacted the retailer I purchased it from but have yet to receive a response. Thanks

Hi, it may have been a bad contact of the RAM module, if this happens again check the seating of the Ram module or replace it with a larger (8GB or 16GB) module. This also happens when the boot drive (HDD or SSD) is bad, download HWINFO.64 and check the condition of the boot drive.

It's brand new - do I take it back to the retailer or just put it down to one of those things?

No Bootable Device error means that the Windows operating system can't find a storage device that contains necessary boot files and drives to boot the system. The storage hardware can be an HDD, SSD, DVD, CD-ROM drive, or USB flash drive.
There are two main probable causes if you encounter the No bootable device found error.

First, your hard drive may not be set as your first boot device in the BIOS.

Second it can be a corrupted MBR.

To resolve this, you can try to access the Windows Recovery Environment/Advanced options.

    1. Hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.
    2. Press the power button again to turn on your device.
    3. When Windows starts again, hold down the power button for 10 seconds to turn off your device.

Repeat the process 3 times, to allow your device to fully restart in the Windows Recovery Environment/Advanced options.

On the Choose an option screen > select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > System Restore

System Restore is a Microsoft Windows tool designed to protect and repair computer software, without you having to reinstall the operating system. It repairs the Windows environment by reverting back to the files and settings that were saved in the restore point. I hope it helps.

If it still is in the 15 days after delivery return policy period, I would claim a new unit from the retailer or a full refund, if after that period bring or send it to Acer Services in your country to reset the system to factory default free of charge or for a small service fee.
