I have an R7-572G-74508G that still works well and I really enjoy this laptop and dont want to change it. I have upgraded the HDD to SSD and upgraded the memory and will upgrade the battery. However I want to speed up the unit considerably and want to change the motherboard , CPU and Graphics card to something very much newer and more powerful. Are there any recommdnations on which motherbaord etc I should use.

Hi, the Intel Core i7-4500U processor in this laptop is soldered to the motherboard, so it cannot be replaced or upgraded. You would need to replace the entire motherboard which would exceed by far the value of your 2014 laptop. You may find a cheap used MOBO which will bring a lot of issues and frustrations with it and not recommended.

The only upgrade for your Aspire R7-572G laptop that you can upgrade to is to upgrade your model mainboard with a higher spec of the same Aspire R7-572G laptop mainboard that Acer released, if there is such a thing? As judging by the last letter of your model that is the letter G your laptop has the dedicated NVidia model #: N14P-GT-A2 which is the GT750M gpu soldered onto the mainboard and it’s the highest spec gpu that your laptop comes with and is combined with the highest spec cpu that the Aspire R7-572G laptop comes with. I’ve got this laptops Acer service guide and in its FRU parts list Acer don’t have any different mainboard listed, so the mainboard that your R7-572G laptop has is the highest spec mainboard that you can have and I can't advise you of a higher spec mainboard that you can upgrade to or swap to.

If you want a better performing laptop I suggest that you buy a new 2024/25 Aspire model with Win-11 that will suite your budget and will be allot more powerful and useful to you, it wont have the fancy design of the R7-572G swivel screen look but it will be allot more efficient. Good luck and hope this give you a better idea of what to do.
