Hello,

I need assistance regarding upgrading the RAM in my laptop for work purposes. My laptop is an Acer Aspire A315-41-R45R, which has two RAM slots. Here are the details:

Processor Name: AMD Ryzen 5 2500U
Motherboard Model: RR Metapod_RR

  • Channel A (P0): A-DATA 4GB (Purchased), Configured Clock Speed: 2400 MHz, Speed: 2667 MHz
  • Channel B (P0): Hynix 4GB (Stock), Configured Clock Speed: 2400 MHz, Speed: 2400 MHz

Currently, both RAM modules are working fine.

My question is: can I buy a Crucial 16 GB DDR4-3200 SODIMM for my laptop? Would it be suitable if I remove either of the existing modules?

You might wonder why I’m considering 3200 MHz RAM instead of sticking with 2400 MHz since that’s the stock speed. The reason is that 2400 MHz RAM products are nearing the end of life (EOL) for most manufacturers. Additionally, some online retailers are listing counterfeit items, which is concerning.

I would greatly appreciate your detailed help on this matter.

Thank you!

No, try to upgrade with the RAM which has the speed DDR4 2400, which suits your laptop.
