Hi, 1TB NVMe SSD has been tried, the Acer Aspire 3 A315-54 has an M.2 slot 3x2 that supports both SATA and NVMe SSDs. This slot is compatible with B+M key SSDs, which means it can accommodate both types of drives. I recommend the Gen3 Samsung 970 Evo Plus 1TB.
