Hi, Ive got the orion 3000 with rtx 2060 and i7 10700. Could I upgrade it to rtx 30XXs or 14th gen processors. Im not talking about power supply because i could obviously upgrade that too but rather the motherboard itself

The Orion 3000 you have is the model PO3-620 (you should always quote this number with your post). The GPU graphics in these desktops is governed by the PSU that is available from Acer as the PSU and mainboard for the Predator 3000 PO3-620 desktops have a proprietary mainboard plug with 6ins and 4 pins to connect to the PSU to power the Acer mainboard of this desktop.

Your PO3-620 with its oem Acer fitted RTX2060 GPU has a 500W prosperity Acer PSU that can power an NVidia RTX3050 that needs 450W PSU but not an RTX3060 GPU as this GPU requires a 550W PSU and so the PSU power required goes up and up and the lowest PSU power that the new RTX4060 GPU requires is a 550W PSU.

The only way that you can upgrade your RTX20260 GPU is to increase the PSU to accommodate a new and better GPU like a RTX3060 and above spec and even a new RTX4-60 GPU, so for that you need to buy a new higher wattage 24pin PSU (or modular PSU) available on the market today and then connect the PO3-620 mainboard 6pin ATX1 to a new 24pin PSU with an adapter cable of a 6pin to a 24pin if they are available which I haven't seen but might be available. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

You can upgrade the GPU as long as you stay within your power budget, typically okay if the 20x0 to 30x0 to 40x0 has the same 'x'. So a 2060 to 3060 will likely use about the same power. You cant jump generations on the CPU, so you will have to stay with 10th gen and unless you want to revamp your cooling stay with the same TDP. Typically a CPU upgrade isn't a good choice, a lot of cost for very little performance change.
