Can the RTX3070 run at the full 16x bandwidth on the Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57 (N20C1)?

GPUz is reporting only @8xPCIe4.0. See below. Apologies for double postings. Im new here.

The Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57 (N20C1) is designed to support PCIe 4.0, but the RTX 3070 may be running at x8 instead of the full x16 bandwidth due to potential reason.

Motherboard Design: Many laptops, including the Nitro 5, often have limitations on how many PCIe lanes are available for the GPU when other devices (like NVMe SSDs) are installed. If the laptop has multiple NVMe drives, it might allocate lanes in a way that restricts the GPU to x8 mode.

PCIe x16 vs x8 Performance Impact

    • Running an RTX 3070 at PCIe 3.0 x8 instead of x16 results in a minor performance impact, typically less than 5%
    • In real-world gaming tests at 1440p, the difference between x16 and x8 is negligible, often under 1%
    • CPU-limited scenarios like esports titles see even less impact from the reduced PCIe bandwidth

In summary, while an RTX 3070 running at PCIe x8 instead of x16 may see a minor performance decrease in synthetic benchmarks, real-world gaming performance is largely unaffected. The GPU's capabilities are still fully utilized in most scenarios
