I bought a Nitro 5 gaming laptop a little over a year and a half ago when I got the computer it had an array of issues, the first problem that I noticed was the HDMI was not working no matter what monitor or cable I used the Laptop never wanted to connect to anything, I went to get it fixed and they replaced the part under warranty but after that issue, I was hit with more problems, secondly after the HDMI was fixed. Anytime I'd turned on the laptop it would enter self-repair mode, as this is my first computer I was VERY oblivious to the fact these were critical issues as I also didn't turn off the laptop very often. I should have addressed it, since all seemed well after it finished and I could still game, I left the issue be until my audio and microphone started acting up, I tried every fix I could to get my audio to which from the base laptop to my speaker or headset but the sound would never switch from the laptop itself and as I was playing with friends or talking with them I found that my microphone would suddenly stop picking up my sound for no reason until I would make the computer forget ALL known sources and replug in my microphone. These issues would persist until finally one of my GPU fans stopped working. I took it into the place I bought it (Best Buy) and they said they replaced both fans but it still failed a GPU test I took it home and I can't play games or do much of anything expect surf the web, With hindsight I should have replaced the entire unit under best buy's warranty but again this was my first gaming device and I thought just repairing the HDMI was enough since they told me there were no ISSUES at all after the repair but we were all very wrong what are my options a year and a half later

First of all. saying that “I bought a Nitro 5 gaming laptop” means nothing to us as we need the exact Nitro 5 model number to give you some specific advice on your laptop, as Nitro laptops are a great gaming platform is they are setup properly! What is your Nitro 5 model number, is it an Nitro ANxx-xx or ANVxx-xx model? Have you updated to the last bios version, and the Acer supplied gpu firmware if your Nitro has one in the Acer Support, are you using the Nvidia GeForce Experience software to download/install the appropriate gpu driver and play games with this software settings, have you got all the windows updates and its optional driver firmware (if your Nitro 5 has any) and have you installed all these drivers?

As Acer has allot of updates for these gaming laptops and by your post, you probably didn’t do all those things and/or know how to setup your gaming laptop properly. See this guide here: Windows 10/11 optimization guide for gaming of how to setup a gaming laptop done by a community member that is very through and should work for your Nitro 5 laptop. Good luck and hope this helps you out, and don’t blame the laptop or Acer.😁
