I am currently in Jamaica with broken hinges on my aspire laptop is there any way to have it fixed? I am still under warranty until October

Hi, this is a major problem and expensive to repair as it may not fall under the Acer warranty policy. Send the laptop to Acer Services in the country you live and registered the laptop. If Acer determines that this is not covered by the warranty you are facing repair costs in excess of $200 if nothing else has been damaged like the panel and motherboard. There is no way to patch this with make-shift methods.

There are some YouTube videos that show how to repair broken laptop hinges.

These show how to open the case and glue the hinge onto the lid where it has broken loose.

What the YouTube videos don't show is the reason the laptop hinges often break… See the picture below for the adjustment needed to prevent the hinges breaking away from the laptop lid.
