Screen flashing issue on startup and safe mode but task manger works fine on Aspire A315-42

Hello!

When turning on the computer, the screen starts flashing (about 1 time in 2 seconds). When turning on "Safe mode" - the same.
When I turn on "Task manager" with "ctrl+alt+del" - the flashing continues in the background, but the "task manager" page itself does not flash.
This problem started suddenly when I turned on my laptop today.
What could be wrong here and how to fix it?

Many thanks in advance, George.

Refresh or reinstall the AMD VGA Driver for its Vega Core graphics in Device Manager > Display adapters as that is the reason why the screen is flashing.

How do I access the "device manager"? The screen flashes all the time (at 2 sec intervals) and I can't press or open anything. (I attached a small video - how it looks)

At the base of your Aspire A315-42 aptop do a Battery Reset with a paper clip, if that doesn't work then you need to do a Hard Reset which needs the back cover removed and the battery unplugged for about 15min and the RTC/BIOS battery unplugged and its mainboard + 7 - pins shorted to reset the CMOS as that should also fix this erratic screen flashes.

I disconnected the main battery, also the BIOS battery (I'm just not sure what is meant by "its mainboard + 7 - pins shorted"). After 30 minutes I turned on the laptop - no changes :(

By the way - I also managed to disable the video card (there is access to the "Control panel") - also without results.

One thing I noticed - there is no "Window Update" button anywhere, nor is it possible to see what "updates" have been installed.

    Problem solved!

I deleted the desktop folder... with all the files and the flashing went away.
Maybe there was a file on the desktop that the computer didn't like, because right before the flashing started I had saved a "harmless" pdf file...
