So, I got an Acer Nitro AN515-55. It has been working fine for about four years, but recently, it's been freezing and shutting down randomly. Sometimes, it shows a 'No bootable device' and will take a few restarts to work. I already cleaned the fans and haven't installed any hardware since I got it. I already removed a lot of apps and files and checked for any viruses or malware, but it still happens. I have the latest Windows update installed, but I don't touch the optional ones. Maybe it's because of the BIOS? I haven't updated (v1.00) since there are posts where their laptops get bricked during a BIOS update. Acer Care Center doesn't show any updates either. It just keeps loading indefinitely.

  • Its not only adequate to have the windows updates and driver updates done to this gaming laptop as the reason your Nitro AN515-55 is freezing is because your laptops bios v1.0 is the first bios and there are 9 more bios updates that have been released by Acer to fix many issues that are critical to your laptop functioning properly, and also a VBIOS firmware update for the gpu. The "No Bootable Device" is probably that your boot M.2 drive is not being detected because of the bios and firmware errors to make the drive operate properly with Win-11 version 23H2 and the latest OS build,

I suggest that you definitely update the below bios/firmware updates from Acer for your AN515-55 laptop, as the bios and firmware updates will fix the issues that you are having with your laptop:

    • bios to the last version 2.06 - 1. Improve for GPU protection
    • Firmware " - version v101a - Update Nvidia discrete VGA VBIOS and improve performance.

Note: when updating the bios and firmware first start the bios Indsyd software and be patient until the bios flash completely finishes, and your laptop comes back to the windows 11 opening screen. DO NOT try and boot or interrupt the bios or firmware VBIOS flash as you will brick the bios or the gpu firmware flash, so be very careful.

Already did the BIOS update and thankfully, my laptop didn't get bricked. I'm confused how to install the update for the firmware. There's a bunch of .exe. files inside, but I don't know which should I use. Is there a step-by-step guide I can follow?

Nevermind the previous comment. I already saw the guide. I ran the update, but it failed. It said that 'this VBIOS update file does not support the graphic card (DeviceID: 0x219110DE)'. What do I do?
