PC Predator PO3-630
Catalog Number: DG.E2CMC.003

After installing additional RAM and a new CPU cooler, the system temperature in the BIOS and PredatorSense started showing as 127°C.

I’ve reset the CMOS, removed the battery, and updated the BIOS, but the problem still persists.

Has anyone encountered this issue? I've searched everywhere and couldn't find any answers. Please help

Unfortunately, the topic there is about laptops and their power modes. Their solution will not help me. Thank you

The topic is System temperature in a laptop or desktop not the GPU or CPU temp.

It sounds like you might be experiencing a sensor or calibration issue, especially if the temperature readings are unusually high. Here are a few steps to troubleshoot:

Check Physical Connections: Ensure that the CPU cooler is properly installed and making good contact with the CPU. A poor connection could lead to incorrect temperature readings or overheating.

Verify Sensor Accuracy: Sometimes BIOS or software sensors can give false readings. Try using a third-party monitoring tool like HWMonitor to cross-check the temperatures.

Inspect RAM Installation: Double-check that the RAM is properly seated in its slots. Improper installation could potentially cause system issues, though it's less likely to affect temperature readings.

Update or Reinstall Monitoring Software: Make sure PredatorSense and any other monitoring tools are up-to-date. Sometimes, reinstalling the software can resolve discrepancies.

Consult Documentation or Support: Review the motherboard and cooler manuals for any specific installation guidelines or troubleshooting tips. If the issue persists, consider reaching out to the manufacturer's support for further assistance.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, you might want to check for hardware defects or consider professional diagnostics.

That looks like a bug in the Predator Sense app. Check first to make sure you are running the latest BIOS version from Acer, and that you are running the latest Predator Sense, also from Acer. It almost looks like it's reporting in F even though it says C. The machine can't be running at 127C, since the CPU goes into thermal shutdown at just over 100C.

I don't think there is a reason to be alamed, but…

Download free HWInfo64 or AIDA64 (under computer => sensors) and check what temps they will give.

I agree, but the problem shows up in the BIOS as well

Funny, but in AIDA and HWinfo64 the temperature is displayed correctly, Acer is such an acer :(

Interesting that you are the only one that I know of, whose 630 reports this high temp. If the reading was BIOS related, this forum would be filled with requests for help.

Reflashing BIOS might help, but since everything else seems to be working, I'd leave it as it is.
