I have a ATC-788 DESKTOP computer. All the Specs qualify for windows 11 EXCEPTION: the processor.

HOW CAN I UPGRADE the processor?

Desperate to save money on a new system. and….

WHY FILL THE LANDFILLS?

Someone said just run it with LINUX OS. Possible?

There is no such model as the Aspire ATC-788 or TC-788 there is an Acer Aspire TC-780 which has a 6th and an 7th Gen Intel CPU, and these CPUs are not Win-11 compatible as the Intel CPUs that are Win-11 compatible from are from the Intel 8th Gen onwards CPUs fitted to a mainboard with a TPD 2.0 security chip, below is the Aspire TC-780 specs:

    RAM modules DDR4-2133MT/s

I think Microsoft is just finding out their initial idea to support all computers with Windows 10 forever just wasn't going to work. Prior to the release of W10 they were coming out with a new OS every three years, and dropping support for older models with each release. It's been something like 9 years since W10 first came out and most systems from that era just don't have the horsepower to give a good user experience with current revs of the OS. Moving back to the old model of doing a new version every three years and dropping support for the old stuff at the same time is likely to be the norm from now on. Just continue to run W10 on your TC-780 until such time as you feel an upgrade is in the cards, then upgrade to something that runs W11 or W12 as appropriate. As long as you aren't doing risky behavior online you are unlikely to run afoul of issues once the security updates stop coming.

There is no such Acer reference model as an ATC-780 at Acer, its probably the Acer Aspire TC-780 model and if you bought it from Amazon they probably changed the model and added the A to the TC-780 to make it a specific model to their retail model desktops. There is no information on an ATC-780 that has Win-11 compliant specifications like an 8th Gen Intel cpu or a TDP 2.0 mainboard.

If you have Win-10 and you want Win-11 either upgrade your ATC-780 (TC-780) to Win-11 specs by changing the mainboard, cpu and ram or buy on Amazon a Aspire TC-1780 for $479.00 that has the following specs: Acer Aspire TC-1780-UA92 Desktop | 13th Gen Intel Core i5-13400 Processor | 8GB 3200MHz DDR4 | 512GB M.2 SSD | SD Card Reader | Intel Wi-Fi 6E AX211 | Windows 11 Home, Black, that is an outstanding value desktop.😀good luck and hope this has helped you out.
