Predator neo16 (PHN16-71)Laptop won't turn on unless plugged in or pressing power on for 30 seconds.

I bought predator neo 16 (PHN16-71) 3 months ago and one time my battery drained to 0%. I charged it to 100% and then turn it off. Later on when i tried to turn on the laptop (charger wasn't plugged in but the battery was full) it won't turn on. When i plug in the charger it turned on again. After doing some research i found out that whenever my battery drops below 20% it wouldn't turn on unless i plug in the charger. Later i found out that after pressing the power button for maybe 30 seconds (when charger isn't plugged in) it turn on the laptop. This problem occurs whenever my battery drop down to below 20%. I'm worried that there may be some fault on my battery or hardware and also, I'm kinda worried that long pressing the power button will Damage the laptop? Please help.

    Hi, long pressing the power button to boot is not a good sign, if the battery was indeed depleted to zero, only possible after the advanced Power settings have been edited (not recommended) the Smart chip inside the battery may have disabled charging, or the battery is damaged. Run a battery report to check the condition but I recommend getting a new battery regardless: Paste this in the command prompt: powercfg /batteryreport and open the report with your Edge browser, right click and select "Print to Microsoft PDF", attach the report to your reply, type @Puraw or use "Quote" when you reply so I will get an alert.

    Just some additional advice for you, as you have to be aware that your new laptops PHN16-71 battery is NOT covered under Acer warranty, so any battery issues like you have done by allowing the battery to discharge below 20% and even 0% and the battery is faulty its NOT covered by Acer warranty, as the Acer warranty only covers a battery laptop internal charging fault(s) and NOT a battery fault! This is even for a brand new PHN16-71 laptop like yours, as you never ever allow a battery to drain to below 20% or and especially 0% charge, as the batteries internal mainboard can lockup and then you need a technician that has a battery analyzer and can unlock the battery with a battery unlocking software, so DO NOT ALLOW A BATTERY TO GO BELOW 20% OR 0%!

    From your description above you haven’t damaged the battery as the laptop still boots, but if the laptop doesn’t boot from the power key properly I suggest that you send the new PHN16-71 to Acer tech support in your country so that they can open the laptop up and do a Hard Reset of the laptop so that the laptop will boot properly from its power key.

    Or you can do this Hard Reset yourself if you open the back cover of the laptop properly without scratching the back cover and damaging the screws and leaving any signs of damage of the laptop.

    To do a hard reset to your PHN16-71 do this, remove the eleven (11) screws from the base cover, carefully pry up the base cover starting from the upper left and right sides to release the latches, continue releasing the remaining latches on all sides of the system, then remove the base cover.

    Take the main battery out first, disconnect the RTC/BIOS battery and then short the RTC/BIOS battery + & - pins at the mainboard plug and take the ram out, leave the laptop like that for at least 15min to allow the EC and Chipset chips to reset as they could have frozen by the battery being allowed to go below the 20% or 0% charge, as the rest will fix these issues.     Hi, please start a new thread outlining your laptop complete model, Windows and BIOS versions and what type of adapter you are using (USB-C or the barrel plug power adapter and what is the power in Watt). Also do you have Acer Care Center with the 80% battery charge limiting option running?
