Hi guys,

Just bought a Triton 14 and facing a big issue here.

On battery mode, if device is off and I turn it on to play a game, I can see the FPS going ups and down all the time.

By monitoring the CPU I could see that it goes from 2500 or 3200mhz to 400 only, which is causing the game to be very chopped.

Then I restart the laptop (not shutting down) and then CPU frequency goes smooth again with no drops.

What I've tried so far:

Power management settings

Clean Windows Installation

Update all possible drivers for GPU and CPU including Chipset

Windows Update

Checked every single process of both situations to see if there's something causing this behaviour but couldn't find anything.

Can somebody help me please?

I'm haaving this issue since day one with the laptop.

Laptop details:

Triton 14 PT14-51

4070

Intel 13700h

16gb RAM

Hi, you should never play games without the adapter/charger plugged-in; the dGPU RTX 4070 consumes a whopping 115 Watt power which will deplete the battery in a manner of 10 minutes and severe power throttling will reduce the performance to a snail's pace whatever Power Plan you are using. Keep the power adapter/USB-C charger plugged in 24/7 so the battery will always be charged 100%.

Sorry mate, I know you're trying g to help but that makes no sense at all.

The gpu power is limited in battery mode. When it works after the restart I can play for 1h with no problems. Putting a 4070 in a laptop and telling you not to use unplugged makes 0 sense.
