Hello, dear Acer community! I am a little new to the whole charade of PC building and stuff. My Predator Orion 3000 recently ran into the issue of some hardware failing. First my screen went black, so I shut it down, now it's doing the repeating one long, 2 short beeps. I am working with a friend who works with computers and we've tried a lot of things. I removed the GPU, tried messing around with RAM modules, nothing seems to work, so we thing BIOS went caput.

So, the question is - how in seven hells do I disconnect the CMOS from its housing? It doesn't seem to be held down by anything except plastic.

The Two Beeps indicates a memory error. You can try to reset the BIOS by taking the BIOS battery out (that you have in the caption above) then shorting the + & - BIOS mainboard plug pins and leaving the battery disconnected for half an hour and also reset the CMOS like shown below, as these Predator Orion desktops (don't know which exact model you have if its a PO3-6XX or PO5-6XX or a PO7-6XX?) as that would help, but this is the default CMOS reset below.

If that doesn't work, then it could be a PSU power problem, or your mainboard has a main power rail chip problem like a mosat or a capacitor is shorted or burned out that needs a technician to diagnose this rail and pinpoint the exact fault. Good luck and hope this resolves your problem.

The Clear CMOS example below is for the PO3-640 desktop and to clear CMOS the Jumper Cap should be at pin 2 and 3 then you have to put the Jumper Cap back to its Normal pins at pin 1 and 2 like shown below.
