After installing the drivers, my touchpad stopped working. I tried to completely reinstall Windows, but it did not solve the problem. Perhaps a compatible driver is needed? If so, can you share it? The touchpad is recognized in the device manager. I tried changing the touchpad I2C/PS2, but it did not help.

If you have done all the software reinstallations and even reinstalled windows, then its a hardware problem that is faulty like and either the touchpad cable is lose or faulty or the actual touchpad is faulty and needs replacing, so you need to open the laptop and inspect these componets, but from experience if a touchpad does not work and its software is installed and especially a windows OS reinstallation was done and the touchpad still dosent work then its those componets above that are at fault. Good luck and hope this helps you out

These are all the listed Aspire A315-44P laptop touchpads and cable that you need to replace if they are faulty.

You should not install touchpad drivers, your touchpad is managed by Windows and MS Precision drivers. In Device manager-Human Interface Devices uninstall all 12C HID devices you see and in Mice and other pointing devices uninstall any touchpad drivers you installed. Uninstall any Unknown and Other Devices you see as these are all incompatible drivers for your system. Uninstall all yellow exclamation triangles you see in Device manager including in Hidden Devices. Just reboot and your touchpad should work OK.

Also Please check the below steps for a fix:-

Disable the I2C HID device from device manager

    Restart your laptop

Enable it again from device manager

Download the Touchpad Driver from Acer official website and then Install it

Restart your laptop and then hopefully your touchpad gets fixed.
