On two occasions within last year, Wi-Fi stopped working on my daughter's laptop for around one week. It would not detect any Wi-Fi network and the only work-around was to switch to wired LAN through USB adapter. After a week, problem seem to "self-correct". My guess is that it was a driver problem that got corrected through Windows update, but I am not sure. Now my daughter is preparing to go to university, and I am worried that this may happen again. Can anyone confirm or clarify if there were some Wi-Fi driver problems on this laptop and if they are resolved for good or not?

Try to roll back the Wi-Fi driver by following the below guide(s) every time that the Wi-Fi is lost, if this doesn't solve the issue then clean install both the Wi-Fi driver and the Bluetooth driver of your card to the latest drivers:

Rollback the Wi-Fi driver (Bluetooth driver is the same, but at the Device Manager Bluetooth section)

Go to > Device Manager > Network adapters > Intel AX201 or MTXMT7921 card (whichever you have in your laptop) > right click Properties > Driver > Update Driver > Browse my computer for drivers > Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer > and then pick the latest Wi-Fi driver that is in that list, and reinstall that driver, as afterwards your Wi-Fi should work.

If the above doesn't work, then its the Wi-Fi/BT card that is faulty and needs replacing, also check issues with your modem or your internet provider if it has any issues, which all should be investigated.

These are the oem Acer SF314-43 fitted Wi-Fi/BT cards
