Hello, I had not turned on my laptop for a few days and today I had to use it and when I wanted to log in the keyboard did not respond, I thought it was some update problem, I connected an external keyboard, I updated, and it seemed to have worked because it let me write for a few minutes, but after a while it stopped working again, now I have noticed that when I turn on the laptop for a few seconds it lets me press keys and it works but after a few seconds it doesn't, any idea what I could do?

If your Predator Helios Neo (don't know which exact model you have PHN15-xx?) is still under Acer warranty, then send this laptop to Acer tech support and get them to fix this keyboard problem and/or change the keyboard.

If your laptop is out of warranty, I would suggest that you do a hard reset and open the back cover and disconnect the main battery and RTC/BIOS battery and take the ram out and shorts its mainboard plug +&- pins with a metal object to reset CMOS, leave the laptop with these parts disconnected for 15min and reconnect everything (don't put the back cover back) and reboot the laptop and see if the keyboard has been reset and is working? As the keyboard symptom could be from a frozen EC or the Chipset chip which should be reset by the hard reset,

if the reset doesn't fix the keyboard, then its either a cable connection issue or fault or the keyboard that you need to replace the keyboard. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Below is the open underside of the PHN16-xx laptop, check the keyboard FFC cable/plug at the mainboard connector that is circled in red below if its connected properly to its plug and hasn't come lose, the green circled plug below is the keyboard backlight FFC, so check that also, as that is the main keyboard cables that could affect keyboard functions.

Hello, I'm checking the warranty, in the meantime I reset the laptop hoping that something would change but no, although right now when I wanted to configure it, I tried to write with the keyboard and in this case I put the letter "j" and instead of writing the letter, the "`" symbol appeared, it did a kind of zoom and the keyboard stayed blocked and I couldn't type anymore, any idea if it is a hardware problem? and the model is PHN16-71
