My Acer Nitro AN515-58 won't reset properly.

I don't know what's happening, but whenever I try to reset my laptop it just shuts off fully. I've already reset it once around a year ago and that worked like a charm! But now whenever I try to reset it or enter the bios, after a few minutes it completely shuts off. It managed to get through the resetting even though it shut down but it kept all my old files. Please can someone help.

You need to do a Clean Install of the Win-11 OS as accessing the WinRE and doing an automatic repair or a system restore (if you have one?) is possible but not probable, and seeing that your Reset This PC doesn't work, the best solution is to start fresh and reinstall Win-11 with a clean install.

Make an installation 8GB-16Gb bootable USB with the Rufus 4.5 software and then put the Win-11 23H2 version .ISO file on this USB and then make sure that you have the AN515-50 unzipped "IRST (Intel® Rapid Storage Technology) Driver version: 19.5.0.1037" from the Acer Support page so that installation USB, so when you get to the Win-11 installation section of; Where do you want to install Windows? > Load driver «< you load thsi IRST driver so that the M.2 SSD boot drive is recognized and yopu can continue the Win-11 23H2 version installation.

Then finish the installation and then and when the OS is updated and is performing fully without any crashes and/or BSODs install the following:

    1. update the bios version to the last version 2.14 and also update all the available
    2. Install the Firmware - Version: 1.04a "Update VBIOS NVVDD EDPc setting change from 90A to 135A Geforce RTX 3060 VBIOS ver: 94.06.36.00.60 or 94.06.36.00.64" and the
    3. Install the Firmware - version: v61507100 that "Enhance storage performance" for the M.2 SSD of your Nitro AN515-58 that Acer has for your laptop. as doing all this will ensure that you have a fully updated laptop like Acer intended it to be, as that is why you are getting errors within the OS and with your laptop. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

Below is the section of the Win-11 installation stage where you need to install the IRST driver @ Load driver so that your M.2 SSD boot drive is recognized, use the "Intel RST VMD Managed Controller 09AB" from the drop-down list that you get:

@StevenGen I managed to figure out that it was the GPU drivers so I updated them and it reset. Also when I was checking the SSD using a tool called Crystal... something, my SSD kept on going above 60°c and then dropping back into the 50s. When it was in the 60s it was like a red warning sign. Is over 60°c on my SSD bad?

The best for the SSD M.2 drive is to buy some good thermal pad material and cover the entire top of the drive with that so that it disperses the heat from the M.2 SSD as in a laptop you need a very thin cooler for these M,2 SSDs, that is what I have. The SSD M.2 drive should operate at and between 30C to 70C (up to 160F) and not higher, but they do get hot momentarily when gaming or at high end PC usage, so be aware of that also as that does not damage them.

Acer uses the below Mylar Graphite Foil Wrap for the Nitro AN17-71 M.2 SSD drives and RAM as a heat disperser so try and see if you can buy this on the web, as I haven't seen them advertised or for sale. Good luck.

One more thing @StevenGen, on an older post of mine you said that the CPU should shutdown at 100 degrees celcius. Normally my CPU runs at 92-93 degrees while gaming but if I put my laptop into performance mode using Nitrosense, my CPU goes up to 100 degrees celsius. Is that normal?

Having 100C temps is not normal but in high end extreme gaming its acceptable and its ok if it happens momentarily but not for long periods of time, as the cpu will shut down when it reaches its extreme temp as then it goes into a self-protective mode. Try to not go to the limit of 100C if you can by cooling the laptop down and using a good tablet cooler with a big good fan in the middle, look at this Rosewill RWNB16A Gaming Laptop Cooler Notebook Cooling as its a good one and its what I use and it works really well in gaming with my Nitro 5 model AN515-56 with the i7-11370H/RTX3050/32GB ram in extreme gaming also and keeps temps down. Good luck
