The speakers of my swiftgo14 sfg14-71 crackle when the windows 'sound enhancements' are on (no settings changed) and DTS also doesn't help much. The sound is weaker with 'enhancements off' but no crackling noises(with enhancements off DTS doesn't work) . Also if external speakers are connected via 3.5mm jack sound is fine with enhancements on and off. But if I select them as 'speakers out' instead of 'headphones' the sound crackle in external as well and there is no bass.

If the speakers crackle then that is a sign that it’s a hardware problem and one or both of your speakers have a damaged cone/cup or its coils are faulty, you need to check the speakers internally if they are damaged, as it they are, then replace them, remember that these laptops speakers are not a top end listening Hi-Fi speaker and the louder you push them the more they will tend to crackle and distort, I recommend using a good noise cancelling over ear headphone or in ear headphones, as that is how you will get the best Hi-Fi listening sound out of these laptops. Good luck and hope this helps you out.

These are the Swift SFG14-71 Acer part numbers speakers, if you need to replace them:
