Not sure this is a hardware issue; videos don't show that. boot to safe mode and check if the issues repeat: In Windows hold down the Shift key while clicking on Restart in the Start-Power icon on taskbar. If OK in Safe mode you need to uninstall your display drivers in Safe Mode with DDU and just reboot, changing the display resolution to default may also help. There can be two causes for this problem: 1) a loose display cable, and 2) a faulty GPU (repair may not be cost-effective; consider avoiding it and looking for a new laptop instead).

In case it's A loose display cable-

Visiting a service center for your Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55 can provide you with professional assistance for the monitor flickering issue.Repair Cost and Time:

    • Cost: Expect to pay around $100-150 for parts and labor, depending on your location and the service center's rates.
    • Time: Repairs typically take 1-2 days.

For the best results, ensure you visit an authorized Acer service center to maintain warranty and quality standards

In case it's a faulty GPU-

    • Cost: Repairing or replacing a faulty GPU can range from $150 to $300, depending on whether it requires a new GPU or a motherboard replacement.
    • Time: The repair process may take 1-2 days, depending on parts availability and service workload.

    My Recommendation-

Replacing the GPU in your Acer Nitro 5 AN515-55 laptop is not a viable option. The GPU is typically soldered onto the motherboard in laptops, making it extremely difficult and risky to replace.Your best options are:

    1. Visit an authorized Acer service center for diagnosis and repair. They can check if the GPU or another component is faulty. Expect to pay around $100-150 for parts and labor, which may be worth it if the laptop is less than 3-4 years old.
    2. Consider buying a new laptop if the repair cost exceeds 70% of the price of a replacement, or if your laptop is 3+ years old with an older CPU/GPU. Newer laptops will provide much better performance for gaming and other demanding tasks.
    3. If the GPU is faulty, an external GPU enclosure is not an option as your Acer Nitro 5 likely lacks a Thunderbolt 3 port required for eGPU support.

In summary, repairing the GPU is not recommended. If the service center diagnoses a faulty GPU, it's better to replace the entire laptop, especially if it's already 3+ years old. Buying a new Acer Nitro 5 model with a modern GPU like the RTX 3050 Ti or 3060 will provide a much better gaming experience
